Six Days of Art 2011

Teign Artists will be launching this year’s Open Studios Trail, Six Days of Art, at Rill Estate near Buckfastleigh. The launch weekend is Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th May, 10am-5pm. See amazing artworks by acclaimed local artists in a beautiful location on the edge of Teignbridge.
The trail itself will be held over the last weekend of May (28th-30th) and first weekend of June (3rd-5th) and includes 38 artists working in all mediums spread around Teignbridge at 15 venues. Opening times are 10am-5pm. There are studios, galleries, homes, gardens and other spaces to visit.

This print portrays the garden at Dartington Hall and the fact that Henry Moore’s reclining lady never turns around to look at it.

Hare Over Westray

I saw a hare running across the fields whilst on holiday on Westray last year. The spiral pattern in the landscape and mirrored on the hare is based on the pattern carved on the amazing Westray Stone.

Magnolia

The inspiration for this print was a magnolia tree in the park down the road. I think the colours are simple but very effective.

Six Days Of Art Launch Exhibition

Teign Artists are set to launch their new Open Studios Trail, the Six Days of Art. The trail itself will be held over the last weekend of May and first weekend of June and includes 29 artists working in all mediums spread around Teignbridge at 18 venues. There are studios, galleries, homes, gardens and other spaces to visit.

As a kick-start to the trail they are holding a Launch Weekend Exhibition on April 24 and 25 (open 10-5) at Rill Estate, a beautiful venue on the edge of Teignbridge, near Buckfastleigh.

This time I lightened the blue and used olive green. Perhaps it turned out a bit too green. Might have looked better if the sky/ background at the top was blue. Too late now!
